the last lecture...

This is amazing, Randy Pausch died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007. What a legacy to leave behind.

In a letter to his wife Jai and his children, Dylan, Logan , and Chloe, he wrote this beautiful "Guide to a better life" for his wife and children to follow.
May you be blessed by his insight.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Personality:
1. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
2. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment
3. Don't over do; keep your limits
4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does
5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
9. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
10. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.
Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more
14. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Community:
15. Call your family often
16. Each day give something good to others
17. Forgive everyone for everything
18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
19. Try to make at least three people smile each day
20. What other people think of you is none of your business
21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
22. Put GOD first in anything and everything that you think, say and do.
23. GOD heals everything
24. Do the right things
25. However good or bad a situation is, it will change
26. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
27. The best is yet to come
28. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
29. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it
30. If you know GOD you will always be happy. So, be happy.

While you practice all of the above, share this knowledge with the people you love, people you school with, people you play with, people you work with and people you live with.
Not only will it enrich YOUR life, but also that of those around you.

the world is mine...

Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair,
And i wished I was as fair,
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle,
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
But as she passed, a smile,
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine,
I have 2 legs, the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy,
The lad who sold it had such charm,
I talked, with him he seemed so glad,
If I were late, it'd do no harm,
And as I left, he said to me,
"I thank you, you've been so kind,
It's nice to talk to folks like you,
You see," he said, "I'm blind",
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine,
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue,
He stood and watch the others play,
He did know what to do,
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?",
He looked ahead without a word,
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine,
I have 2 ears, the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go,
With eyes to see the sunset's glow,
With ears to hear what I'd know,
Ya Allah, forgive me when I whine,
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

forgive me....

Ya Allah,
for all the years i have been totally ignorant to the true teachings of Islam, forgive me...
for all the years i have took Islam very lightly in my life, forgive me....
for all the years i took for granted of everything you've given me, forgive me....
for all the years i pray to you but with not an ounce of sincerity, forgive me....
for all the years i felt embarrassed to portray as a good muslim, forgive me...
for all the years i never put You above everything else, forgive me....
for all the years i never loved Prophet Muhammad SAW more than i loved myself, forgive me...
for all the years i was never satisfied with what i have, forgive me....
for all the years i was only working hard for this world and not the hereafter, forgive me...
for all the years i keep doing the things You forbid, forgive me.....

for You are The Most Forgiving....
and i hope for the years to come
i would love You with all my heart,
that i would do anything, and i really mean anything, for Your sake...
to seek Your pleasure and blessings.....
for You are enough for me.....amin.....

Therefore remember Me, I will remember you, and be thankful to Me, and do not be ungrateful to Me [Quran 2:152)

7 malaikat, 7 langit & ikhlas...

This article is given my senior. It might be long but it is a MUST READ!! After reading it, i felt some hard slaps on the face!!

Dari Muaz, Rasulullah SAW bersabda :

"Puji syukur ke hadrat Allah SWT yang menghendaki agar makhluk-Nya menurut kehendak-Nya, wahai Muaz!"
Jawabku, "Ya, Sayidil Mursalin."

"Esoknya, naik lagi malaikat Hafazah membawa amalan si hamba.

Rasulullah SAW meneruskan sabdanya,

all the best people!!!

ALL THE BEST IN THE EXAMS!!

Usaha + Doa + Tawakkal = recipe for success!!

InsyaAllah, Allah is always there beside us......trust in Allah for He knows best.....

Here are 20 exam tips for muslim students:-
Praise be to Allaah and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger and upon his family and companions.
The Muslim student puts his trust in Allaah when facing the tests of this world, and he seeks His help whilst following the prescribed means, in accordance with the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): "The strong believer is better and is more beloved to Allaah than the weak believer, although both are good. Strive to attain that which will benefit you and seek the help of Allaah, and do not feel helpless." (Saheeh Muslim, hadeeth no. 2664)
Among those means are the following:

- Turning to Allaah by making du'aa' in any way that is prescribed in Islam, such as saying, "Rabbiy ishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri (O my Lord, expand my chest and make things easy for me)."

- Getting used to sleeping early and going to exams on time.

- Preparing all required or permitted equipment such as pens, rulers and setsquares, calculators and watches, because being well prepared helps one to answer questions.

- Reciting the du'aa' for leaving the house: "Bismillaah, tawakkaltu 'ala Allaah, wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata illa Billaah. Allaahumma inni a'oodhu bika an adilla aw udalla, aw azilla aw uzalla, aw azlima aw uzlama, aw ajhala aw yujhala 'alayya (In the name of Allaah, I put my trust in Allaah, and there is no strength and no power except with Allaah. O Allaah, I seek refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray, lest I slip (commit a sin unintentionally) or be tripped, lest I oppress or be oppressed, lest I behave foolishly or be treated foolishly)." Do not forget to seek your parents' approval, for their du'aa' for you will be answered.

- Mention the name of Allaah before you start, for mentioning the name of Allaah is prescribed when beginning any permissible action; this brings blessing, and seeking the help of Allaah is one of the means of strength.

- Fear Allaah with regard to your classmates, and do not be affected by their anxiety or fear just before the exam, for anxiety is a contagious disease. Instead, make them feel optimistic by saying good words as prescribed in Islam. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was optimistic when he heard the name of Suhayl (which means "easy") and he said: "Things have been made easy for you." He used to like to hear the words 'Yaa Raashid, when he went out for any purpose. So be optimistic that you and your brothers will pass this exam.

- Remembering Allaah (dhikr) dispels anxiety and tension. If something is too difficult for you, then pray to Allaah to make it easy for you. Whenever Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) found something too difficult to understand, he would say, "O You Who taught Ibraaheem, teach me; O You Who caused Sulaymaan to understand, cause me to understand."

- Choose a good place to sit during the exam, if you can. Keep your back straight, and sit on the chair in a healthy manner.

- Look over the exam first. Studies advise spending 10% of the exam time in reading the questions carefully, noting the important words and dividing one's time between the questions.

- Plan to answer the easy questions first, then the difficult ones. Whilst reading the questions, write notes and ideas which you can use in your answers later.

- Answer questions according to importance.

- Start by answering the easy questions which you know. Then move on to the questions which carry high marks, and leave till the end the questions to which you do not know the answers, or which you think will take a long time to produce an answer or which do not carry such high marks.

- Take your time to answer, for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "Deliberation is from Allaah and haste is from the Shaytaan." (A hasan hadeeth. Saheeh al-Jaami, 3011).

- Think carefully about the answer and choose the right answer when answering multiple-choice questions. Deal with them in the following manner. If you are sure that you have chosen the right answer, then beware of waswasah (insinuating whispers from the Shaytaan). If you are not sure, then start by eliminating the wrong or unlikely answers, then choose the correct answer based on what you think is most likely to be correct. If you guessed at a correct answer then do not change it unless you are sure that it is wrong – especially if you will lose marks for a wrong answer. Research indicates that the correct answer is usually that which the student thinks of first.

- In written exams, collect your thoughts before you start to answer. Write an outline for your answer with some words which will indicate the ideas which you want to discuss. Then number the ideas in the sequence in which you want to present them.

- Write the main points of your answer at the beginning of the line, because this is what the examiner is looking for, and he may not see what he is looking for if it is in the middle of the page and he is in a hurry.

- Devote 10% of the time for reviewing your answers. Take your time in reviewing, especially in mathematical problems and writing numbers. Resist the desire to hand in the exam papers quickly, and do not let the fact that some people are leaving early bother you. They may be among the people who have handed in their papers too early.

- If you discover after the exam that you answered some questions incorrectly, then take that as a lesson in the importance of being well prepared in the future, and not rushing to answer questions. Accept the will and decree of Allaah and do not fall prey to frustration and despair. Remember the hadeeth of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), "If anything befalls you, do not say, 'If only I had done such and such.' Rather say, 'Qadar Allaah wa maa sha'a kaan (the decree of Allaah and what He wills happened),' for saying 'if only' opens the door for the Shaytaan." (Saheeh Muslim, and the first part of this hadeeth was mentioned above).

- Note that cheating is haraam whether it is in foreign language tests or any other tests. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "Whoever cheats is not one of us." It is wrongdoing and it is a haraam means of attaining a degree or certificate, etc., that you have no right to. The consensus is that cheating is a kind of cooperation in sin and transgression. So do without that which is haraam, and Allaah will suffice you from His bounty. Reject all offers of haraam things that come to you from others. Whoever gives up a thing for the sake of Allaah, Allaah will compensate him with something better. You have to denounce and resist evil, and tell the authorities about any such thing that you see during the exam, or before or after it. This is not the forbidden kind of slander rather it is denouncing evil which is obligatory.
Advise those who buy or sell questions or post them on the Internet etc., or who prepare cheat notes. Tell them to fear Allaah, and tell them of the ruling on what they are doing and on the money they earn from that. Tell them that the time they are spending in preparing these haraam things, if they spent it in studying, or answering previous exams, or helping one another to understand the subject before the exam, that would be better for them than doing these haraam things.

- Remember what you have prepared for the Hereafter, and the questions of the examination in the grave, and how to be saved on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is saved from the Fire and admitted to Paradise will indeed have succeeded.
We ask Allaah to make us succeed in this world and cause us to be among those who are victorious and saved in the Hereafter, for He is the All-Hearing Who answers prayer.

seeking your guidance...

Ya Allah, we are trying to put our best effort in this,
but only You can help us go through this with ease,

we are begging for Your forgiveness and guidance,
to overcome this part of our life obstacles,
for You are The Most Powerful & The Only One we can turn to....amin...

p/s: not that i like answering questions that much, but just to let out any of your curiosity, you can try asking me any questions but i can't promise that i will answer all though...nevertheless, i'll try my best... http://www.formspring.me/izzatnadz

happy MAK's day!!!

"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell
"MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

God made a wonderful mother,
A mother who never grows old;
He made her smile of the sunshine,
And He moulded her heart of pure gold;
In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,
In her cheeks fair roses you see;
God made a wonderful mother,
And He gave that dear mother to me

I miss you so much,
your laugh, your smile, your touch.
You always brightened my days
with all the smiles you sent my way.
I need you as my angel
to always be at my side.
I need you as my angel
to give me peace of mind.
I like to think your near to me
to know that you are there.
Even though I can not see you,
I feel that you are near.
Please do not forget me mom,
for you are always in my heart,
my thoughts and prayers.
I love you.

If I could give you diamonds
for each tear you cried for me.
if I could five you sapphires
for each truth you've helped me see.
If I could give you rubies
for the heartache that you've known
If I could give you pearls
for the wisdom that you've shown.
Then you'll have a treasure, mother,
that would mount up to the skies
That would almost match
the sparkle in your kind and loving eyes.
But I have no pearls, no diamonds,
As I'm sure you're well aware
So I'll give you gifts more precious
My devotion, love and care.

As I look back on my life
I find myself wondering...
Did I remember to thank you
for all that you have done for me?
For all of the times you were by my side
to help me celebrate my successes
and accept my defeats?
Or for teaching me the value of hard work,
good judgement, courage, and honesty?
I wonder if I've ever thanked you
for the simple things...
The laughter, smiles, and quiet times we've shared?
If I have forgotten to express my gratitude
For any of these things,
I am thanking you now...
and I am hoping that you've known all along,
how very much you are loved and appreciated.

Mak,
I would copy & paste thousands even millions
of mother's day poems for you,
just to show you,
my gratitude, appreciation and love
towards you.....
sorry for all my wrongdoings,
and thank you so very much for all you have done for me....
for you are,
my one and only MAK....

I LOVE YOU MAK!!!

dedicated to you both....

when any of us was born,
though it was difficult for you both,
you both would smile and maybe cry of joy for Allah's gift.

when any of us made you stayed in hospital after your C-section for a whole month,
though it troubled you both,
you both endured it whole-heartedly and was just grateful that your child was born healthy.

when any of us was naughty,
though in your hearts you felt sad seeing your child crying,
you both had to punish us to discipline us.

when any of us got sick, no matter from fever, appendicectomy or super bad food poisoning,
though sometimes you were sick as well,
you both would be by our side taking care of us throughout the night.

when any of us were schooling,
though you were super tired from hospital calls at night or handling household matters,
you both would wake up early in the morning to get us ready and send us to school.

when any of us was going to have an exam,
though you had lots of other matter to deal with,
you both were there to motivate us into studying.

when any of us was on exam day,
though you were busy,
you both would find time to pray for us at home or the mosque.

when any of us had tuition,
though you were exhausted,
you both would still go back and forth sending and picking us up.

when any of us was getting result on that day,
though you were nervous yourself,
you both would tell us that it would all be fine to calm us down.

when any of us fail in anything,
though you were sad deep down inside,
you both would not show even the slightest bit of disappointment and say it's not the end of the world.

when any of us achieved anything,
though you noticed that we did not thank you,
you both would just smile and say 'we are happy for you child'.

when any of us is having our birthday,
though you weren't given present during yours,
you both would go all the trouble to find us the best presents.

when any of us went to boarding school,
though you were sad that your child would apart from you,
you both would support, advice and sent us with open heart and prayers in your heart.

when any of us was going abroad for studies,
though you would only get to see us just once a year,
you both would go through all the trouble preparing and sending us off and feeling a lifetime worth of proud for us.

when any of us needed money,
though you worked hard to earn and save it,
you both would just agree and quickly run to the bank to send it straight away.

when any of us were craving for any food from overseas,
though you were busy,
you both would run to shops buying the food and the post office to post a whole box with variety of food.

when any of us wanted to buy a car,
though it was expensive,
you would agree to support us financially if that was what we really want.

when any of us had troubles in our lives,
though you already gave us lots of advices on the matter,
you both would the first ones running and coming to our rescue.

despite all the things you both have done for us,
you never do them asking for something in return,
all you ever hope for was our HAPPINESS....
you are our MAK & ABAH....

MAK & ABAH,
from the bottom of our hearts
thank you, thank you, thank you....
we don't know what have we done in our lives,
to deserve you both,
you are our inspiration to show that
love can be unconditional........
we realize now that with all you both have done,
though we might use to think that some was bad for us,
adding up with your tender loving care,
and sincere, warm hearts,
are the recipe to what we are today....

Ya Allah, my one and only Rabb,
please bestow upon them your forgiveness, love & happiness,
for their forgiveness, love & happiness towards us, amin....

iman naik & turun...

alhamdulillah, i came across this artikel from APIS's website and LOVING it!!! moga dapat jadi pedoman to all reading it....

Itulah dia resminya kita. Hamba Allah SWT.

Hikmah satu kejatuhan

Ada kata-kata hikmah berbunyi:

“Hanya si buta mengetahui nikmatnya melihat, hanya si mati mengetahui nikmatnya kehidupan”

Supaya manusia belajar menghargai keimanan mereka.

Penutup: Bila jatuh, jangan kecewa. Lekas naik semula jangan banyak bicara

al-fatihah.....

who knew....the same time aku tgh seronok shopping, my dearest friend, Hidayati Hassan telah menghembuskan nafasnya yg terakhir......Allah lebih menyayangimu wahai sahabatku....to all chesco o2o6, i'm dedicating this song as a tribute to her.....insyaAllah, she will be always alive in our heart within our memories.....

Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir Yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mengenangkan
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Tulus ikhlasmu luhur budimu
Bagai tiada pengganti
Senyum tawamu juga katamu
Menghiburkan kami
Memori indah kita bersama
Terus bersemadi
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Sudah ditakdirkan kau pergi dulu
Di saat kau masih diperlukan
Tuhan lebih menyayangi dirimu
Ku pasrah di atas kehendak Yang Esa

Ya Allah
Tempatkannya di tempat yang mulia
Tempat yang diKau janjikan nikmat
Untuk hambaMu

Sahabatku
Akan kuteruskan perjuangan ini
Walau kutahu kau tiada di sisi

Perjuangan kita masih jauh beribu batu
Selagi roh masih di jasad hidup diteruskan
Sedih rasa hati ini mengenangkan dikau
Bagai semalam kau bersama kami

Moga amanlah dan bahgia dikau di sana
Setangkai doa juga Fatihah terus kukirimkan
Moga di sana kau bersama para solihin
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir Yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mengenangkan
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

p/s: you will always be remembered in my heart....al-fatihah.....

Some people hate
Some people love

Some people are procrastinators
Some people act now

Some people love to point fingers
Some people love to extend their hands

Some people question every answer
Some people have an answer to every question

Some people hate to lose an argument
Some people love to win hearts

Some people want to change
Some people want to be the change

Some people are blind except to their own colour
Some people are colour blind

Some people are proud to belong to their race
Some people take pride in belonging to the human race

This New Year, it is not about who is perfect and who is not. It is about sharing One Legacy & One Destiny. Because to build a great nation we must learn to see the perfections in the imperfections....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

lets make this year better than last year....lets start new good habits rather than keeping old bad habits......
